• Theory of charge transfer between solids and ions: Many-body correlations and Auger processes.
• Electron and photon emission from surfaces. Electromagnetic fields at surfaces.
• Surface physics. Ab initio calculations.
• Time dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). Its application to inhomogeneous systems, in particular surfaces.
• Transport and optical properties of surfaces, interfaces and nanosystems.
