The Centre for Educational Sciences and Teacher Research

CUL is an interdisciplinary graduate programme in educational science at Göteborg University, where school teachers and university faculty from many different departments are joined in studies of knowledge formation.

During the years 2005 and 2006 a total of 51 PhD students were recruited, with a total of 27 students financed by their schools for PhD studies 50% of their time, while spending the rest of the time a teachers, with direct contact with pupils, colleagues and school leaders.

CUL is organized in a number of "Themes". The theme focusing on "The Content, Process and Environment of Learning" (Lärandets innehåll, process och miljö"), is coordinated by Ann-Marie Pendrill and Christina Kärrqvist. Although open to students in different subjects, most students in the theme has an interest in math, science and technology education, often in informal settings. (See calendar for activities.)
