About 15 billions years ago the Universe started from an incredibly hot and dense Big Bang. The course gives a description of the structure and evolution of the whole Universe and its main building blocks: galaxies. The structure of our Galaxy will be discussed in detail. Black hole physics will be described in application to Quasars and other active galaxies. Theory of the Big Bang will be explained. Multimedia presentations will be used during the course. The course is given in English. Knowledge of physics and mathematics only at the level of a Swedish gymnasium is assumed.
