How to install the color printer driver for win9X
Information on how to us it from UNIX may be found at atomcolor_unix.html.
Due to the fact that the printouts have to pass through the printgw server, it is not possible to install the normal driver for the color printer and installing the printer will be more difficult. However, here are instructions on how to install it.
First, the Adobe PostScript printing (information page) system have to be installed.
Download the Adobe PostScript printing system install file and the Tektronix Phaser 740 Plus ppd file (Right-click and choose Save ... something) directly from this page to a directory on your computer. (For NT and Win200 You find the Adobe PostScript files in the directory aps_NT)
Then double-click on aps431eng.exe (or aps102eng.exe) and follow the instructions. If You get an error message, copy all files in the directory to your local drive and run from there if You have not alredy done so.
Type "\\printgw\atomcolr" for network path. Observe the bad spelling.
In the next window, press browse and move to the directory You install from and select the file Tkp740p4.ppd and continue.
Then select Tektronix Phaser 740 Plus.
After a few OK/NEXT/INSTALL some of the Tektronix Phaser 740 Plus Properties have to be changed according to the following figures.
In Device Options change Optional Lower Trays, Duplex Unit and Memory Configuration:
In PostScript/Advanced... check that no CTRL-D is sent and that an alert is displayed:
In Details it should looks like this figure:
Then press Apply and OK and You're done.
