This is the world famous art form from Kerala, "Kathakali","Kadha" means Story and "Kali" means Play. This is the kerala Opera.

To a casual observer a "Kathakali" dancer can look quite ferociously impressive. It's only when you look closer and observe the movement of the hands, or the minutest flicker of the eyes, that you gauge the wealth of expression behind every gesture.
