Research

So what am I actually doing when I'm not spending my time at the coffee machine ? I principle I do the same things as I did during my Thesis work, but on new systems - and I've got a few new ideas as well (but of course I cannot tell you ;-)) Well the scope of my thesis was as the title suggests:Conformations and Vibrations in Polymer Electrolytes. I studied the internal flexibilities of the bulky anions such as TFSI and PFSI and tried to correlate the quantum mechanical calculations results with vibrational spectroscopy measurements made.

Another line of work was to study oligomers of PEO "glymes" and what happens with their conformations when coordinated to lithium cations. The ion transport of lithium in polymer electrolytes is believed to be performed through conformational changes of the polymer and the anion is believed to more or less diffuse in the media - so such a study is highly relevant

As always science is in progress and if you really wanna know what I'm doing right now - you'll have to contact me

This was a boring page some of you might argue, but for more "pictures and stuff" - check out the graphics section or the VRML section - or for even more (?) boring stuff you might take a look at my publication list (including abstracts) or my CV.

best wishes / Patrik
